How to play
Words appear as letter tiles above the battlefield (or as a sentence in Hard mode). Type them and your ninja attacks. How you attack depends on what you type:
- Short words (4 letters or fewer): your ninja dashes in and punches.
- Medium words: your ninja throws a shuriken.
- Long words and sentences: your ninja casts magic that matches the stage: ice, vines, lightning, rocks or fire. Magic hits twice as hard.
There are five stages, each with its own monster and scenery. The first four share the battle theme, and the boss has its own music:
- Frost Spirit on the ice fields
- Swamp Frog in the swamp
- Sky Tengu on the mountain
- Canyon Racoon in the canyon
- Lava Cyclops, the boss, by the volcano
Each monster charges an attack. Watch the orange bar under its HP: when it fills, the monster strikes and you lose one of your three hearts. Every word you finish pushes the bar back, and long words and sentences give you more time. When the bar starts flashing, finish your word quickly to COUNTER: your ninja jumps over the attack, hits back for extra damage and knocks the bar well back. Clearing a stage restores one heart.
Three difficulty levels
- Easy: short words, a relaxed attack timer. Good for beginners and kids.
- Normal: everyday words that get longer with each stage.
- Hard: short sentences with capitals and punctuation. Every sentence casts magic.
Your best WPM is saved separately for each level.
Combos and mistakes
Every word you type correctly in a row adds to your combo. A mistake breaks it and the count starts again from zero. At a combo of five, every attack becomes a CRITICAL hit for double damage. This is the heart of the game: rushing and making errors is worse than typing slightly slower and getting every word right. The highest combo you reach in a run is shown on the results screen as your max combo.
Daily Monster
In Daily Monster mode, everyone who plays on the same day gets the same words in the same order. That makes it a fair comparison: if you and a friend both play today's Daily Monster, you faced exactly the same words, and your WPM and accuracy can be compared directly.
Play on consecutive days to build a "Day N" streak. Miss a day and the streak starts over. The streak is stored in your browser on the device you play on, so use the same browser each day to keep it going.
Your results
At the end of a run you see:
- WPM, based on the characters you typed correctly
- Accuracy, the share of keystrokes that were correct
- Max combo, your longest run of correct words
- Day N, your current Daily Monster streak
Tips
- Accuracy first. A long combo is worth more than a few fast words. Type at a pace where mistakes are rare.
- Keep your eyes on the tiles, not the keys. If you catch yourself looking down, you have found the key to practice. The typing lessons cover every row of the keyboard.
- Read the whole word before you start. A quick glance at the full word avoids the most common mistake: starting a familiar word and finishing it wrong.
- Play the Daily Monster first. It takes only a few minutes and builds a habit. Use free play afterward if you want more.
- Stay relaxed. When a monster is nearly defeated, it's tempting to speed up. That's when combos usually break.

Your combo resets to zero. The run goes on, so one mistake costs you your combo, not the game.
Does everyone get the same Daily Monster?
Yes. The word order is set by the date, so every player gets the same words on the same day. A new set appears the next day.
Can I play on a phone?
Yes. Tap the battlefield and type with your phone keyboard, though a physical keyboard is the best way to play.
Can I turn off the sound?
Yes. Use the speaker button in the corner, or press M on the start screen. The setting is remembered. The game has battle music, a separate boss theme and sound effects for every attack.
